buy gold?

I read from news that gold price drop a lot lately. Not sure due to what reason coz I really did not bother to know what’s happening in the world now, let alone world economic crisis. Now some of my friends suggested to me to buy gold coins as saving! I am so tempted now. Shall I buy or still keeping my extra money in fixed deposit earning the little bit of interest? Of course, my hubby would ask me buy gold too. This is because gold price will up one day, just that we not sure when. Further more, gold price forever much better than share market!
