Moving towards to Open Source

Due to the limited space of my hard disk, since long time ago I started to search for alternate application software which small in size, but good enough to meet my requirement.
So far 2 software I like is Mozila Fire Fox and Foxit pdf format reader. I save up nearly 100MB hard disk space by removing IE and Acrobat reader from my pc.
I just don’t understand why the mainstream software producers like to bundle so much of useless features in their software. Ended up we need the larger hard disk space to install the software.
I am now assessing the possibility of removing Microsoft Office from my pc and replace with open source like Open Office or Star Office. No outcome at this moment, I will update you my experience with the Open Source when I am ready.
Finally I hope I can say good bye to all Microsoft Software.
