Oil shortage issue again

I am running out of cooking oil. Do you having the same problem? I had been busy shopping around for oil for the past few days but I end up getting nothing.
What happen to Malaysia? Situation of cooking oil shortage happen in the world largest source of palm oil supply. It is really a great joke to the world. As what I learnt from the industry insider, the root cause of the shortage is due to the high price variance between the subsidized and non subsidized cooking oil supplying commercial user like restaurant, bakery shop. Factory one not allows to purchase the subsidized oil for the commercial purpose. But due to high commodity price and profit, no one will come about the business ethic. Everyone go out to the market and grab all the subsidized oil for the own benefit. That causing the current shortage situation.
As usual, goament will step into stabilize the supply. Hopefully situation gets better when goament limit the oil purchase to 5kg/customer effective next week. Anyway, I don’t think the idea is smart enough to control the misuse of subsidized oil. Goament should further control the oil purchase for example 5kg per week per household. It can be done with today’s IT technology. The only challenge is the willingness of the goament official to put in effort to control.
Don’t forget goament is using our money to subsidize the oil. Do you won’t it to be used to subsidize the commercial user?
